Can anything good come out of L.A.?

Yes, of course! There are good people, good priests and good religious. One very good parish is St. Peter Chanel. It is staffed by a religious order of priests who are faithful and fervent.

don't expect anything balanced from this blog... he'll give you 100 posts with recycled pictures, and then, maybe, he'll post something he thinks is good to convince you that he's trying to be "fair and balanced". It's a ruse. He seems to be among the "cathedral isn't catholic and should be destroyed" fringe crowd, even though the cathedral has the blessed sacrament in its tabernacle, an altar consecrated to Our Lord where Holy Mass is celebrated, the relics of saints and early martyrs, including LA's patroness, a baptismal font, kneelers on its pews, and is the seat of a validly ordained and appointed cardinal archbishop.
