Group calls for Mahony's resignation

DAILY NEWS photo.

From WORLD NET DAILY.

A pro-life Catholic group is calling for the resignation of Los Angeles Archbishop Cardinal Roger Mahony after security guards at the city's main cathedral threatened to arrest students protesting at inauguaration ceremonies held there for Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
Go HERE for full story.

If Mahony is going to leave L.A. anytime soon, it will not happen by an intervention from below (i.e., by petition or protest), but rather by an intervention from on high (i.e., by the pope or higher).

We must pray for him. He appears altogether oblivious to the gravity of the situation.

Where do I sign the petition is question number one.

Second question is, will it do any good?

Nope. God must intervene.

Cardinal Mahony's coddling of pro-aborts is worthy of his resignation, but I think there is an even bigger issue here, and that is the pagan worship that goes on regularly at the Cathedral.

It's hard to spread the outrage evenly amongst worthy causes; but while Cardinal Mahony can make semi-plausible arguments about trying to bring about the conversion of pro-abort Catholics, he can make no such arguments for permitting (encouraging) pagans, muslims, and, yes, even protestants, to "worship" at the Altar of Christ.

Cardinal Mahony also lets non-Catholic groups use the cathedral for funerals. There was a funeral recently for an airport police officer killed in the line of duty. He was Baptist, not Catholic.
