You can't be Catholic and pro-abortion

These photos from THE LOS ANGELES TIMES show scenes from the inaugural ceremony held at the L.A. Cathedral for leftist, pro-abortion, pro-gay, "Catholic" politician and now mayor of Los Angeles.

That's the Cardinal of Los Angeles on the left.

"Circle of prayer" around the new mayor and his wife. That's Cardinal Mahony on the left.

An alternative rite is performed at our Our Lady of the 'Eagle's Wings' Cathedral. I wonder if Cardinal Mahony would be as welcoming to alternative rites such as the Tridentine Mass. By the way, the Cardinal is so far to the left in this picture that he is out of camera range.

Cardinal Mahony is the big guy in black on the left.

N.B. the blue signs just below the American flag suspended over the crowds are being held by the "Crusaders for the Defense of the Catholic Church." These are the university students who were threatened with arrest at the Cathedral before the "inter-faith prayer service" there.

One of the signs says:

YOU CAN'T BE CATHOLIC AND PRO-ABORTION.

I guess it's a good thing that The Blessed Sacrament is hidden away in the side chapel. Otherwise all that pagan dancing would have been an occasion of even greater scandal.

Any canon law experts out there know if it is permissible to have pagan prayers performed in a church?

I know that Los Angeles has people of many religions, but why are there five Buddhist monks in that circle? That must be at least 100 times out of proportion to the Buddhist population of L.A.

No shortage of Buddhist monks in L.A., just a shortage of priests.

Who's the woman with the tiara-veil thingy on her head? She looks like she's taken Stevie Nicks too seriously over the years.

Does anyone else see good ole' Jesse in the background? What other old Lefties were present at the Cathedral?

I'm sure they'd have invited old Yasser if he was still alive.

Perhaps Che, too.

Ring around the Villaraigosies ... Yeah, I saw old Jesse J. behind Mr. Rogers ... Willie Brown was there, too.

What you have to realize is that the Mahony's religion (novus ordo) has no blessed sacrament since there is no real presence.

the novus ordo rite is a blasphemous and pagan rite that does not resemble the True Catholic Faith, outside of which there is no salvation!

And I suppose you think the last "true Roman pontiff" was Pius XII, or was even he too way out for you?
