L.A. campus ministry
This photo is from the "A Garden of Eatin' Dinner Auction" held at St. Mark's University Parish (Goleta, CA). The caption to the photo reads: "How would you like to bid on the opportunity to celebrate Clay's birthday?"
This is really creepy.
St. Mark's is staffed by the Paulist Fathers. The Paulists in Boston made headlines last year by not refusing communion to pro-abortion presidential candidate John Kerry.
POSTSCRIPT
As the photo below shows, this unseemly event was held in the newly renovated "worship space" at St. Mark's, adding insult to injury (to put it mildly).

Ha! Take a look at the "Cosmic Christ" thing. I cant tell what it is at all, I wasnt sure what it was supposed to be even after reading the caption.
Holy Mother of God, pray for them!
Thank God the Paulists were removed from my alma mater, Boston University in 2000. The growth since then, and since the brotherhood of hope (www.brotherhoodofhope) arrived has been absolutely phenomenal. Retreats used to attract 15 people at most, and they now attract ten times that with an equally long waiting list. Eucharistic adoration is now a staple of life at the Newman center, daily Mass has outgrown the chapel, and the litany of praise goes on. Thank God! May the death of the Paulists be painless, but SWIFT!
