The Stones in L.A.

Not the Rolling Stones, but the Mahony Stones.

What was this about the cathedral being paid for? If that is the case, why is the Cardinal looking for money wherever it can be found.

"You, and the generations that come after you are the ones who fill the pews, sing the hyms (sic), hear the words of guidance and hope, and praise the Lord. It is people such as you who build (sic) the great cathedrals of the past, one stone at a time. This is a rare opportunity to be part of your cathedral, the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, once (sic) stone at a time."

The person who wrote the above copy was appropriately "stoned" (sick) at the time.

$ 50 ... Chapels & Ambulatories
$ 100 ... Side Aisles
$ 250 ... Baptistry
$ 500 ... Main Aisle
$ 1000 ... Sanctuary
$ 2,500 ... Blessed Sacrament Chapel
$ 5000 ... Closest to the Altar

Now you understand why Cardinal Mahony said, "We are the Church of the poor."

Frankly, I still ADMIRE the generosity of the Americans. Imagine a church costing $200M. [That's more than 11 BILLION PESOS in Phil. currency] Here in the Philippines, for less than a year now we have been "desperately" trying to raise $180,000 to build a well-deserved parish church for 100,000 (!) parishioners.

Again, be grateful! You do not only have a rich diocese but GENEROUS people as well. NO COMMENT on your Cardinal [who was here during the internment of our BELOVED Card SIN.

Q, are there any box seats left along the third-base line? I'll take two for the right price.

CS-

Yes, there are lots of box seats left for puchase in ROGER STADIUM. Unfortunately, there are no seats in the peanut gallery because there isn't one (no choir loft). In Mahony's cathedral, the choir is in the presbyterium where, according to the norms, it should NOT be.
