Holy Communion for pro-abortion politicians

Reports are saying (thank you, commenter Jack Clough) that our U.S. bishops have agreed to leave it up to each local bishop to decide about giving Holy Communion to pro-abortion politicians or refusing to. That is what has been going on already, essentially.

For a politician to provide political and legal protection, rhetorical support and moral justification to abortionists and the abortion lobby, and thus to betray God's precious BABIES to painful, grisly deaths by the thousands daily and millions yearly, either is a mortal sin or it is not. Protection of the Blessed Sacrament cannot vary from diocese to diocese!

We await further and more complete information on this development. But for right now, we can say that this week it appears far better for Angelenos to be outside the Millennium Biltmore luxury hotel and the Rog Mahal with the faithful few pro-life picketers in the stifling heat than to be inside and making air-conditioned compromises in favor of pro-abortion politicians. Can it be that our bishops once again have let God's little babies down?

Coulf the bishops let us down again and fail to speak for the unborn? Well, in a word: YES!

Human 'respect' is more important and 'going with the flow' and 'not offending' and 'political correctlness' are what is foremost and not the lives of the innocent or even the lives of the mothers which are also forever changed. Not only do women live with the guilt and trauma of the murder, but there IS a link between breast cancer and abortion. The devil gets two lives for one in the physical realm and the soul of the mother in a mortal sin for which she must repent.

Where are the true MEN of God? Now I know there are some, but not nearly enough. Lord, grant us true shepherds.

Hirelings.
Cowards.
Liars.
Material heretics.
Wolves.
Abominations.
Servants of Herod.

Put that on a sign.

It'll make for some interesting stuff here in Houston! The USCCB has just made it easier for us to spot potential pro-abort Bishops!

(Conde now Tito... again)

I was debating the decision, until I saw Cardinal McCarrick's lame remarks.

As I note in my blog, I think the bishops blew it, and if I were a bishop, I'd have some words for the people of my diocese.

One reason, that may be a factor & discussed behind closed doors by some of our bishops who continue to allow well-known supporters of abortion to receive the Holy Eucharist, is that some of these movers & shakers fear endangering their tax-exempt status. The root of all evil is the love of money.

I agree with Simon-Peter. These Bishops are not Shepherds. They are nothing more than Hirelings, and they are in heresy and schism from the See of Petter. Would that His Holiness, Pope Banadict XVI, would recognize that and remove all of those who refuse to Excommunicate Politicians who support a Woman's "Right" to murder her baby.

May the Lord have mercy on us all, Michael
