Here is the Cross that the Left hopes to tear down

Here is the Mount Soledad Cross in San Diego, which the Irreligious Left hopes to tear down soon. The photo is from the site of the Mt. Soledad Veterans Memorial (click on this post's title).

Our stance should be, "Sorry, Lefties, but the Cross is part of America's heritage and was central to the faith of the great majority of the servicemen and women whom it commemorates."

It is worth noting, or maybe we all know already, that the Spanish place name "Soledad" is from "Nuestra Senora de Soledad," or "Our Lady of Solitude."

We adore Thee, O Christ, and we bless Thee, because by Thy holy Cross Thou hast redeemed the world. Amen.

You know your geographical history. I love those missionaries for naming everything on the west coast. That's gotta be a sore point to all lefties.

Dear Tito,

Yes, indeed. Everything is named for the Blessed Mother, the saints and the angels, and other Catholic names such as Sacramento (for the Blessed Sacrament.

Isn't it fun to think about other Catholic place names around our country, such as Corpus Christi, Texas, and St. Joseph, Missouri?

Hey, Mr. Q:

I am so glad to see that you are posting pictures again! I love your blog but now I love it even more. I am of the MTV generation and I need the visuals.

A beautiful picture of this embattled site.
Many years ago, there was a movement to remove all place-names in California that had religious connotation or was in Spanish. Xenophobia at its finest!
Cooler heads prevailed given the enormity of such a task. Gracias a Dios.
