Cardinal Egan announces parish closings. Does L.A. have a list of potential closings here?
In the New York Times photo above, Cardinal Edward Egan of New York and Bishop Dennis Sullivan announce the 10 parishes they are closing and the 11 they are merging.
The Times article about this (click on this post's title) says the Cardinal has given a reprieve to nine other parishes and six missions.
Does Cardinal Mahony have a list of parishes to potentially close?

I say close the monstrosity known as the Cathedral and sell it. That should take care of things.
Likely the traditional, unwreckovated ones and/or those with orthodox pastors.

gonna have to do something to settle some of that huge backlog of cases... probably selling churches to convert into mosques
Naw, his Eminence will turn them over to his new cadre of lay parish administrators. You know, the wannabe priestesses, et al.
he is already setting it up for lay administrators at my church and you can be sure he has a list of closures and is checking it twice.
The episcopal motto of H.E. is "To reconcile God's people." A more apt motto would be simply: "TO WRECK GOD'S PEOPLE," because that is what Mahony has done during his long and tragic reign in Los Angeles.
How is it that there are pockets of orthodoxy in parishes such as Sts. Peter & Paul in Wilmington, now runned by the Norbertine Fathers, St. Peter Chanel in Hawaiian Gardens, runned by the Oblates of the Virgin Mary, and certain religious orders, such as the Carmelites of the Most Sacred Heart of L.A.? I think I'm more bewildered as to how they're able to thrive in L.A. with Mahony running the showcase. He wouldn't close those parishes simply because they have high parishiner attendance, which, to Mahony, means $$$.

The parishes closed would have the beautiful, unwreckovated churches and the orthodox pastors.
That has happened around the USA.

Our Treasurer, Dr. Attila Revesz, will be in Hungary for sometime. Because of this, we need someone who will act as Assistant to the Treasurer until he returns.
This person would be responsible for receiving the forwarded mail, copying the envelopes and checks, recording the information in a data base,depositing the checks, and faxing or emailing this information on to Attila at a U.S. email or fax number.
At this time, the records will have to be kept for the General donor fund and for the "Priests in Need" fund.
