Eight California bishops to attend West Coast Walk for Life this Sat.

News reports say eight California Catholic bishops will be among the thousands of pro-life marchers in the fourth annual Walk for Life West Coast (for Walk info., click on this post's title) this Saturday, Jan. 19, in San Francisco.

That's great!

How about if each of these bishops -- I hear Cardinal Mahony and Archbishop Niederauer are among them -- would phone up his local pro-abortion politicians this week and forthrightly invite them to repent, convert and attend the Walk for Life together with him?

Can I hear an amen?

Quintero,

This is the same Cardinal Mahony who marches with and says Masses in honor of pro-abortion politicians such as Villagarosa and others. He also brings in many pro-abortion speakers to his annual Religious Education Congress. The smell of hypocricy is so strong, I don't understand how you can't detect it and subsequently avoid it!

Regarding dissenters, Some say "If we just ignore them they will go away," If that were true, the Religious Education Congress would be decreasing in attendance not increasing. Of course many are actually forced to attend in order to be allowed to teach in their parishes!

As the leader of a group that does not follow what some say, the CRCOA, I urge you and others to join us in trying to bring these errors to light to the many innocent souls who attend this dissent fest.

We will be standing in front of the Congress entrances once again, on March 1st from around 9:00 AM to around 6:00 PM. You will soon be able to find out more by going to our Website at: www.crcoa.com, or by calling me at: 714-491-2284.

By the way, Shepherds of Souls, Priest, are welcome to join us.

Dear Kenneth,

Don't worry -- if you look back in my archive of posts here, you'll find any number of times when I've pointed out that our hierarchy talk pro-life but pal around with the pro-abortion politicians.

In fact, that was exactly my point in saying the bishops who go to the Walk for Life this Sat. should invite the pro-abortion pols to repent and join them there.

Dear Kenneth,

It's a true spiritual work of mercy that you will once again be outside the "Religious Education" Congress to warn people of the dissenting speakers inside and of the dangers those speakers pose to everyone in the Archdiocese of L.A. and in the entire Church.

I congratulate you ahead of time, and I urge everyone reading this to set aside March 1 to come and meet you and join with you in warning your fellow Catholics.

Dear Kenneth,

As you have said in the past, and I have, too, many of the speakers at the REC are all right. You're just warning people about the dissenters among the speakers.

The attendees need to be alerted about the presence of dissenter speakers and to be on their toes. Thanks for all the good you do.

Dear Joe,

Wouldn't it be great if even one pro-abortion politician would repent while he was in office!

What a day that would be. Wish our bishops would do everything in their power to make that happen; they don't seem to be doing that.

Dear Hoping for Heaven,

I second your Amen! God bless, and may we all get to Heaven.

Dear Q, that would be absolutely wonderful if they repented while they were in office...In the meantime we can pray for the unhardening of their hearts as well as for our Bishops to have strength and admonish the sinner.

Bishop McGrath of San Jose stayed away. Not a peep on the diocesan website, either. However, I note that he found time to join Episcopal Bishop Katherine Jefferts-Schori at an Episcopal service earlier this month. Gotta keep those priorities straight, right, Bishop?

Dear Dover Beachcomber,

Thank you for the report and for the good points.

Maybe Bishop McGrath had a legit reason for not being there; let's hope so -- although eight other bishops managed to be there.

But what legitimate reason could he have had for taking part in that Episcopalian service with the bishopess? (Answer: NONE!)
